CHILDREN'S SERVICES

Now Offering Storybags!

The Children’s Department now offers Early Literacy Storybags, thanks to an Every Child Ready to Read @ Your Library (ECRR) grant.

The thematic Storybags include books, movies, and educational toys aimed at children ages birth – three contained in easy-to-transport bags.  Themes include Night, Seasons, ABC, Eric Carle, Food, Zoo Animals, Farm Animals, Mother Goose, Things that Go, and Babies. ECRR is a parent education initiative developed jointly by the American Library Association and the Public Library Association.  It stresses that early literacy begins with the primary adults in a child’s life.
