Preparing for the SAT? The Bloomfield public libraries subscribe to the Testing & Education Reference Center (TERC), which offers online SAT practice tests and prep course for the new SAT. With the 2016 SAT Test overhaul, it’s important that students have access to the most up-to-date test-prep materials.
Access TERC at the library, or at home with a Bloomfield library card, through the library website by clicking on the Online Resources drop down menu and selecting either A-Z Resources or Educational Resources.
TERC focuses on these important new aspects of the exam:
- Knowledge and skills necessary for career/college readiness and success
- Real-life vocabulary and a student’s understanding of how words can shape meaning, tone, and impact
- Critical thinking and foundational math skills
TERC’s prep materials will help students master the steps needed to answer complex questions correctly and also learn to process the information necessary to respond quickly.
The redesigned SAT allows students to showcase their best work to colleges and universities by focusing on skills that matter most for college readiness and success. The SAT scoring rubrics have also been redesigned, with the optional Essay being scored separately. For more information about the updated SAT test, please visit the College Board’s website.
